この一頌の呪は、añjana（コーリリウム／黒い眼膏）を、眼と顔の輝きを通して働く心的・情欲的な力として神格化し、相互の引き合いを成就させる。黒い軟膏を塗り、真言を唱えることで、行者は相手の心の中で自らを「黒くする」――すなわち愛する者の心念に消えがたく刻みつけ、二つの心が一致して和合するように求める。
