この一頌の讃歌は、インドラをスートラーマ(「善き護り手」)として招き、慈しみ深い加護を得て、敵意・害意を退け、無畏を確立することを願う。また「卓越した英雄力の主権」(suvīrya)を求め、インドラの守護力のもとで、繁栄・威勢・勝利の強さが一体となることを祈る。
It is Indra praised as Sutrāmā, “the good protector”—a form emphasizing reliable guardianship, graciousness, and active defense against threats.
The mantra asks Indra to repel hatred (dveṣa), make the reciter fearless (abhaya), and grant commanding strength and success described as ‘lordship of excellent heroism’ (suvīrya).
