この一頌から成るアタルヴァ・ヴェーダの祈願は、聖なる言葉と祭儀を促す力の主であるブラフマナスパティ(ブリハスパティ)に「起ち上がれ」と呼びかけ、ヤジュニャ(yajña)によって神々を目覚めさせるよう願う。凝縮された効力は寿命とプラーナ(prāṇa)を増大させること(āyurvardhana)にあり、同時に祭主(yajamāna)に繁栄の徴—子孫、牛財、名声—を確保する。
It is used to increase lifespan (āyus) and vital breath (prāṇa), and also to support prosperity—offspring, cattle/wealth, and good fame—for the yajamāna.
Because he embodies the power of sacred speech and ritual efficacy; the hymn asks him to rise and awaken the gods through yajña so the boons of life and prosperity become active.
No specific herb or amulet is indicated in the verse. The ‘substance’ emphasized is yajña itself—an offering or simple sacrificial act performed with correct intention and recitation.
