Soma Pavamāna
This short Pavamāna hymn praises Soma as he streams through purification, described as the heaven-upholding, god-skilled essence released into the ‘rivers’ (channels) and made fit for divine enjoyment. It repeatedly links Soma’s clarified surge with Indra’s empowerment—entering the inner receptacles, awakening the worlds like lightning, and granting vigor and victory to the worshippers.

धर्ता दिवः पवते कृत्व्यो रसो दक्षो देवानामनुमाद्यो नृभिः । हरिः सृजानो अत्यो न सत्वभिर्वृथा पाजांसि कृणुते नदीष्वा ॥
आसमान को धरने वाला साफ़ हो रहा है। यह रस असरदार है, देवियों का काम है, लोग इसका मज़ा लेते हैं। पीता रंग वाला, घोड़े की तरह ताकत के साथ निकलता है। नदियों में जाके अपनी शक्ति आज़ादी से दिखाता है।

शूरो न धत्त आयुधा गभस्त्योः स्वः सिषासन्रथिरो गविष्टिषु । इन्द्रस्य शुष्ममीरयन्नपस्युभिरिन्दुर्हिन्वानो अज्यते मनीषिभिः ॥
सोम बिल्कुल बहादुर जैसा है जो हाथ में हथियार ले लेता है। वो चमक-दार दुनिया को चाहता है, रथ में बैठ के रास्ते पे चलता है। इंद्र की ताकत बढ़ाने के लिए वो काम करता है। रिशि लोग इस सोम को आगे बढ़ाते हैं अपनी सोच से।

इन्द्रस्य सोम पवमान ऊर्मिणा तविष्यमाणो जठरेष्वा विश । प्र णः पिन्व विद्युदभ्रेव रोदसी धिया न वाजाँ उप मासि शश्वतः ॥
हे सोम, जब तुम अपने आप को साफ करते हो इंद्र के लिए, तब तुम्हारी लहरें अंदर घुसें। तुम्हारी ताकत बढ़ती है। हमें बढ़ाओ, जैसे बादल में बिजली चमकती है और दोनों दुनिया जाग जाती हैं। हमेशा के लिए ताकत और सोच के साथ पास आओ।

विश्वस्य राजा पवते स्वर्दृश ऋतस्य धीतिमृषिषाळवीवशत् । यः सूर्यस्यासिरेण मृज्यते पिता मतीनामसमष्टकाव्यः ॥
यह सब नदियों का राजा है जो अपने आप को साफ करता है। वो चमक-दार दुनिया को देखता है। सच्चाई की सोच को जगाता है, झूठी बातों को तोड़ता है। सूरज की चमक से साफ होता है। वो सबकी सोच का बाप बन जाता है, कोई उसके जैसा नहीं है।

वृषेव यूथा परि कोशमर्षस्यपामुपस्थे वृषभः कनिक्रदत् । स इन्द्राय पवसे मत्सरिन्तमो यथा जेषाम समिथे त्वोतयः ॥
जैसे बैल हर्ड में घुसता है, वैसे यह बर्तन के आस-पास दौड़ता है। पानी के बीच में बैल की आवाज़ आती है। तू इंद्र के लिए अपने आप को साफ कर, जोश में रह। तुम्हारी मदद से हम लड़ाई में जीत जाएंगे।
