বসিষ্ঠৰ এই সংক্ষিপ্ত সূক্তত দ্যাৱা–পৃথিৱী—আকাশ আৰু পৃথিৱী—ক একেলগে ঋত (ব্ৰহ্মাণ্ডীয় বিধি) ধাৰণ কৰা বিশাল দিৱ্য পিতৃ-মাতৃ ৰূপে আহ্বান কৰা হৈছে। যজ্ঞত তেওঁলোকে সৰ্বাগ্ৰ স্থান গ্ৰহণ কৰক, ‘দিৱ্য জন’ (সহায়ক শক্তিসমূহ) সহ আহক, আৰু উপাসকসকলক প্ৰচুৰ ধন-সম্পদ আৰু স্থায়ী কল্যাণ দান কৰক—এইদৰে প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰা হৈছে।

Mantra 1
प्र द्यावा यज्ञैः पृथिवी नमोभिः सबाध ईळे बृहती यजत्रे । ते चिद्धि पूर्वे कवयो गृणन्तः पुरो मही दधिरे देवपुत्रे ॥
যজ্ঞেৰে দ্যৌ (স্বৰ্গ) আৰু নমস্কাৰে পৃথিৱী—অবিভক্তভাৱে একেলগে—মই আহ্বান কৰোঁ, দুয়ো মহান আৰু যজ্ঞযোগ্য। কিয়নো পূৰ্বৰ কবি-ঋষিসকলেও স্তৱ গাই এই দুয়োক আগত স্থাপন কৰিছিল—মহান, দেৱ-পুত্ৰী শক্তিদ্বয়।

प्र पूर्वजे पितरा नव्यसीभिर्गीर्भिः कृणुध्वं सदने ऋतस्य । आ नो द्यावापृथिवी दैव्येन जनेन यातं महि वां वरूथम् ॥
হে পূৰ্বজ পিতৃ-মাতৃসদৃশ দ্যাৱা-পৃথিৱী, ঋতৰ আসনত সদায় নৱ-নৱ গীতিবাণীৰে আপোনালোকৰ উপস্থিতি গঢ়ি তুলক। দ্যাৱা-পৃথিৱী, দেৱীয় জনসমূহ (শক্তিসমূহ) সহ আমাৰ ওচৰলৈ আহক; আপোনালোকৰ মহান আশ্ৰয়-ৰক্ষা-বিস্তাৰ আমাৰ চাৰিওফালে আছে।

उतो हि वां रत्नधेयानि सन्ति पुरूणि द्यावापृथिवी सुदासे । अस्मे धत्तं यदसदस्कृधोयु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
উতো হি, হে দ্যাৱা-পৃথিৱী, সুদাস দাতাৰ বাবে তোমালোকৰ বহু ৰত্ন-নিধান আছে। আমাৰ ভিতৰত যি এতিয়াও অভাৱ, সেয়া স্থাপন কৰা—হে অকৃধোয়ু (অক্লান্ত দাতা)! আৰু সদায় স্বস্তিভিৰে (কল্যাণ-সমন্বয়ে) আমাক ৰক্ষা কৰা।
