ವಸಿಷ್ಠನ ಈ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವು ದ್ಯಾವಾ–ಪೃಥಿವೀ—ಆಕಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿ—ಇವರನ್ನು ಋತ (ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ರಮ)ವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುವ ವಿಶಾಲ ದಿವ್ಯ ಪೋಷಕರಾಗಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಮಂತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಜ್ಞದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಿ, “ದಿವ್ಯ ಜನಗಳು” (ಸಹಾಯಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು) ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಲಿ, ಮತ್ತು ಆರಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಧನಸಂಪತ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Mantra 1
प्र द्यावा यज्ञैः पृथिवी नमोभिः सबाध ईळे बृहती यजत्रे । ते चिद्धि पूर्वे कवयो गृणन्तः पुरो मही दधिरे देवपुत्रे ॥
ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಿಂದ ದ್ಯಾವನ್ನು, ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಪೃಥಿವಿಯನ್ನು—ಅವಿಭಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿ—ನಾನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಆ ಎರಡು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಯಜ್ಞಾರ್ಹರನ್ನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದ ಕವಿಗಳೂ ಗಾನಮಾಡುತ್ತ, ಈ ಮಹಾನ್ ದೇವಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

प्र पूर्वजे पितरा नव्यसीभिर्गीर्भिः कृणुध्वं सदने ऋतस्य । आ नो द्यावापृथिवी दैव्येन जनेन यातं महि वां वरूथम् ॥
ಹೇ ಪೂರ್ವಜನ್ಮ ಪಿತರೌ, ಋತದ ಸದನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಹೊಸ ಗೀರುಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿವಾಸವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿರಿ. ಹೇ ದ್ಯಾವಾ-ಪೃಥಿವೀ, ದೈವ್ಯ ಜನ (ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು) ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ; ಮಹಾನ್ ನಿಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ಮಕ ವಿಶಾಲ ಆವರಣ.

उतो हि वां रत्नधेयानि सन्ति पुरूणि द्यावापृथिवी सुदासे । अस्मे धत्तं यदसदस्कृधोयु यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
ಉತೋ ಹಿ, ಹೇ ದ್ಯಾವಾ–ಪೃಥಿವೀ, ಸುಧಾಸ (ಸು-ದಾತ)ನಿಗಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ರತ್ನ-ನಿಧಾನಗಳು ಬಹಳಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊರತೆಯಿದೆಯೋ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರಿ; ಹೇ ಅಸ್ಕೃಧೋಯು (ಅವಿರತ ದಾತ), ನೀವು ಸದಾ ಸ್ವಸ್ತಿಭಿಃ (ಮಂಗಳಕರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳಿಂದ) ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿರಿ.
