یہ مختصر اگنی-منتر ایک مختصر اتھرون بددعا ہے جو اگنی کے ارچس (شعلہ)، شوچس (جلانے کی تپش)، اور تیجس (تجلت) کے ذریعے دشمن کی بدنیتی کو خود اس کے پاس پھیر دیتا ہے۔ یہ ایک رسمی 'پلٹاؤ' کے طور پر کام کرتا ہے، جو کارکن سے نفرت کرنے والے کو جلانا، بھوننا اور کمزور کرنا چاہتا ہے، جبکہ آگ کی کنٹرول شدہ طاقت سے گھر کی حفاظت بھی کرتا ہے۔

शत्रुनाशनम्। अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ तप॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ तप॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے اگنی! اپنے اس تپش سے, جو تیری ہے, اسے بدلے میں جلا دے، جو ہم سے بغض رکھتا ہے، جسے ہم اپنا دشمن جانتے ہیں۔

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ हर॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ हर॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے اگنی! اپنے اس جلتے ہوئے بجلی کے تیر سے, جو تیری تپش ہے, اسے بدلے میں مار، جو ہم سے بغض رکھتا ہے، جسے ہم خود بھی دشمن سمجھتے ہیں۔

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ऽर्चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रत्य॑र्च॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے اگنی! اپنے اس شعلے سے اس پر الٹا شعلہ بھڑکا, جو ہم سے بغض رکھتا ہے، جسے ہم دشمن سمجھتے ہیں۔

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॑ शो॒चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ शोच॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے اگنی! اپنے اس شعلے سے اسے بدلے میں جلا دے, اسے جو ہم سے بغض رکھتا ہے، جسے ہم خود بھی دشمن سمجھتے ہیں۔

अग्ने॒ यत् ते॒ तेज॒स्तेन॒ तम॑ते॒जसं॑ कृणु॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
اے اگنی! اپنے اس تیجس سے اسے بے تیج کر دے, جو ہم سے بغض رکھتا ہے، جسے ہم دشمن سمجھتے ہیں۔
It is used to protect oneself and one’s household by ritually reversing hatred or harmful intent back onto the person who is sending it.
Agni is the visible, immediate power of fire; the hymn treats his flame and heat as an executable force that can burn, scorch, and neutralize an enemy’s potency.
The primary ‘substance’ is the fire itself. Traditional performance may add kindling and a small oblation, but the hymn’s main mechanism is directing Agni’s arciṣ/śocis/tejas through recitation.
