Sukta 8.39
अग्निमस्तोष्यृग्मियमग्निमीळा यजध्यै । अग्निर्देवाँ अनक्तु न उभे हि विदथे कविरन्तश्चरति दूत्यं नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
agním astoṣi ṛgmíyam agním īḷā́ yajádhyai | agnír devā́n anaktu na ubhé hí vidáthe kavír antáś cárati dūtyám nabhantām anyaké samé ||
ข้าพเจ้าได้สรรเสริญอัคนี ผู้เป็นฤๅษีแห่งบทสวด; ข้าพเจ้าบูชาอัคนี ผู้ควรรับการบูชาในยัญพิธี ขอให้อัคนีเจิมและสถาปนาเหล่าเทวะเหนือเรา ให้มาประทับกับเรา; เพราะในที่ชุมนุมทั้งสอง เขา—กวี—ดำเนินอยู่ภายในในฐานะทูต ขอให้พลังฝ่ายตรงข้ามถูกขับไล่ไปสู่อาณาเขตอื่น
