Sukta 7.85
स्पर्धन्ते वा उ देवहूये अत्र येषु ध्वजेषु दिद्यवः पतन्ति । युवं ताँ इन्द्रावरुणावमित्रान्हतं पराचः शर्वा विषूचः ॥
spárdhante vá u deva-hū́ye átra yéṣu dhvajéṣu didyávaḥ pátanti | yuváṃ tā́n indrāvaruṇāv amítrān hatáṃ parā́caḥ śárvā víṣūcaḥ ||
ఇక్కడ దేవాహ్వాన యుద్ధమేళంలో వారు పరస్పరం పోటీపడుతున్నారు; అక్కడ మెరుపుల కాంతులు యుద్ధధ్వజాలపై పడుతున్నాయి. హే ఇంద్ర-వరుణులారా! ఆ శత్రు-శక్తులను మీరు ఇద్దరూ సంహరించండి—వారిని దూరంగా తరిమివేయండి; చూర్ణమై, అన్ని దిశలకూ చెల్లాచెదురుగా పడునట్లు చేయండి.
