अयं संक्षिप्त इन्द्रस्तोत्रः यज्ञं रक्षति—यजमानान् “इन्द्रस्य भागं पश्यत” इति आह्वयन्, तं च भागं यथाविधि तस्मै प्रापयितुं नियोजयन्। हविषः पाके यत् दोषाः स्युः—सुपक्वम् अपक्वं वा—तान् अपि समन्वयति; शुद्धया समर्पणबुद्ध्या प्रायश्चित्तवत् अर्पणं निर्दिशति, येन इन्द्रः सन्तुष्यति। मध्यान्हे सूर्यस्य परिवर्तने काले नियोजितः, अन्ते वज्री इन्द्रः मध्यान्ह-सवनस्य दधि पातु इति आमन्त्र्यते; ऋतेन (ऋत-क्रमेण) समन्वयात् समृद्धिं, पशुरक्षणं, यज्ञसिद्धिं च साधयति।

उत्तिष्ठत; अग्रे पश्यत—इन्द्रस्य भागम्, ऋत्वियम् भागम्। यदि श्रातं हविः जुहोतन, तदा जुहोतन; यदि अश्रातं, तदा तेनैव तं ममत्तन।

श्रातं हविः—हे इन्द्र—तत् प्रति प्र याहि; सूरोऽध्वनो विमध्यम् जगाम। परि त्वासते निधिभिः सखायः, कुलपा इव व्राजपतिं चरन्तं परितः।
