Sukta 9.66
स मर्मृजान आयुभिः प्रयस्वान्प्रयसे हितः । इन्दुरत्यो विचक्षणः ॥
sa mर्मṛjāná āyúbhiḥ práyasvān práyase hitáḥ | índur átyo vicakṣaṇáḥ ||
Pavamāna Soma filtration (pavitra) in Soma sacrifice; verses suited to the pressing/clarification sequence (Abhiṣava–Pavana) within Agniṣṭoma-type Soma rites.
inner purification, discernment (viveka-like vi-cakṣaṇa), life-force (āyu) as support of consciousness
Purified life-energy moves in ṛta rather than in desire-patterns.
Clear seeing in action—truth guiding speed.
Transformation of raw life into luminous, effective power.
Integral psychology of the Veda: prāṇa uplifted by Ananda and guided by inner sight.
Breath and life-force purified, becoming swift yogic energy under discrimination.
Feel breath (āyu) washing the inner channels; invite delight (indu) to become a steady force for right action.
maṇipūra (disciplined power) with support of ājñā (discernment)
4-4-6 breathing (inhale-hold-exhale) gently; chant on the exhale to ‘set’ prāṇa into clarity.
Clean vital energy, luminous motivation, decisive but wise action.
Before demanding tasks, chant 12 times; then sit 2 minutes, observing whether speed arises from restlessness or from clear delight—choose the latter.
Rigvedic accents as per śākhā tradition; exact udātta placement requires a svara-text source.
Keep marmṛjānaḥ crisp with a gentle lift; give atyaḥ a quick, clean articulation; do not rush vicakṣaṇaḥ—let it ‘see’.
marmṛjāna: clear ṛ (vocalic r) and avoid ‘maram’, āyubhiḥ: long ā; final ḥ light, prayasvān: keep ‘sv’ conjunct; long ā, prayase: three syllables pra-ya-se, hitaḥ: dental t, light visarga, vicakṣaṇaḥ: kṣ conjunct; final ḥ light
Clean, energized, controlled; avoid breathlessness (the mantra is about disciplined prāṇa).
