Sukta 8.1
य एको अस्ति दंसना महाँ उग्रो अभि व्रतैः । गमत्स शिप्री न स योषदा गमद्धवं न परि वर्जति ॥
yá éko ásti daṃsánā mahā́m ugró abhí vratáiḥ | gámatsá śiprī́ ná sá yóṣadā́ gámad dhávam ná párī varjati ||
ഏകനായ അവൻ—ദംസനാ (പ്രഭാവശക്തി)യിൽ മഹാനും വ്രത (ധർമ്മനിയമ)ങ്ങളുടെ ബലത്തിൽ ഉഗ്രനും—അവൻ വരട്ടെ. ശിപ്രി (പ്രകാശിത അധരമുള്ളവൻ)പോലെ അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു; വിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ വരുന്നു; നമ്മുടെ ഹവനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നില്ല—സ്ഥിരമായ ആധാരത്തെപ്പോലെ, വശത്തേക്ക് ചുറ്റി മാറുന്നില്ല.
