Sukta 4.2
अधा यथा नः पितरः परासः प्रत्नासो अग्न ऋतमाशुषाणाः । शुचीदयन्दीधितिमुक्थशासः क्षामा भिन्दन्तो अरुणीरप व्रन् ॥
adhā́ yáthā naḥ pitáraḥ párāsaḥ pratnā́so agne ṛtám āśuṣāṇā́ḥ | śucī́d ayan dī́dhitim uktha-śā́saḥ kṣā́mā bhindánto aruṇī́r ápa vran ||
അപ്പോൾ, നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ പുരാതനർ ഋത (ṛta)ത്തിനായി ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുപോലെ, ഹേ അഗ്നേ, അതുപോലെ തന്നെ: ശുചികളായി, വാക്കിനെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, അവർ ദീപ്തമായ ജ്വാലയെ ഉണർത്തി. ഭൂമിയെ പിളർത്തി, അവർ അരുൺ (ചുവപ്പൻ) പ്രകാശങ്ങളെ പുറത്തെടുത്തു സ്വതന്ത്രമാക്കി.
