Sukta 4.17
त्वं महाँ इन्द्र तुभ्यं ह क्षा अनु क्षत्रं मंहना मन्यत द्यौः । त्वं वृत्रं शवसा जघन्वान्त्सृजः सिन्धूँरहिना जग्रसानान् ॥
tváṃ mahā́ṃ indra túbhyaṃ ha kṣā́ ánu kṣatráṃ maṃhánā manyata dyáuḥ | tváṃ vṛtráṃ śávasā jaghánvān tsṛjáḥ síndhūn áhinā jagrasānā́n ||
ഹേ മഹാനായ ഇന്ദ്രാ! നീ തന്നെയാണ് മഹാൻ; നിനക്കായി ഭൂമിയും ദ്യൗ (ആകാശവും) നിന്റെ അതിപ്രചുരമായ ശക്തിയാൽ ലഭിച്ച ആധിപത്യം അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു. നീ ബലത്തോടെ വൃത്രനെ സംഹരിച്ചു, അഹി (സർപ്പം) വിഴുങ്ങിയിരുന്ന സിന്ധുക്കളെ/നദികളെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു—അവരോദ്ധത്തിന്റെ പിടിയിൽ നിന്ന് സത്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രവാഹങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു.
