Sukta 4.12
इध्मं यस्ते जभरच्छश्रमाणो महो अग्ने अनीकमा सपर्यन् । स इधानः प्रति दोषामुषासं पुष्यन्रयिं सचते घ्नन्नमित्रान् ॥
idhmáṃ yás te jábhārat śaśramāṇó mahó agne ánīkam ā́ saparyán | sá idhānó práti doṣā́m uṣásaṃ púṣyan rayíṃ sacate ghnán amítrān ||
മഹാനായ അഗ്നേ! പരിശ്രമത്തോടെ നിനക്കായി ഇധ്മം (ഇന്ധനം) കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് നിന്റെ പ്രബലമായ അനീകം (അഗ്രമുഖം) ആരാധിക്കുന്നവൻ—നിന്നെ ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ച് ദോഷാ (രാത്രി)യും ഉഷാ (പ്രഭാതം)യും രണ്ടിനെയും അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കുന്നു; റയി (സമൃദ്ധി)യെ പോഷിപ്പിച്ച് അതിനോടൊപ്പം ചേർന്ന് ശത്രുസക്തികളെ സംഹരിക്കുന്നു.
