महि महे दिवे अर्चा पृथिव्यै कामो म इच्छञ्चरति प्रजानन् । ययोर्ह स्तोमे विदथेषु देवाः सपर्यवो मादयन्ते सचायोः ॥
máhi mahé divé arcā pṛthivyái kā́mo ma icchán cárati prajā́nann | yáyor ha stóme vidáthēṣu devā́ḥ saparyávo mā́dayante sacā́yoḥ ||
മഹാ ദ്യാവേ (സ്വർഗ്ഗം)ക്കും പൃഥിവിക്കും വിശാലമായ സ്തുതി പാടുക. എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ഇച്ഛൻ (തിരയുന്ന) കാമം (ആകാംക്ഷ) ലക്ഷ്യം അറിഞ്ഞ് സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു. കാരണം അവരുടെ സ്തോമത്തിൽ (സ്തുതിയിൽ), വിദഥങ്ങളിൽ (ഋതക്രമമുള്ള യജ്ഞസത്രങ്ങളിൽ), ദേവന്മാർ—സപര്യവഃ (സേവിക്കുന്നവർ, പ്രവർത്തി സാധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർ)—ആ രണ്ടിനോടും (ദ്യാവാ-പൃഥിവീ) സചായോഃ (ഒരുമിച്ച്) ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
