Sukta 3.1
प्राञ्चं यज्ञं चकृम वर्धतां गीः समिद्भिरग्निं नमसा दुवस्यन् । दिवः शशासुर्विदथा कवीनां गृत्साय चित्तवसे गातुमीषुः ॥
prā́ñcaṃ yajñáṃ cakṛma várdhatāṃ gī́ḥ samídbhīr agníṃ námasā duvasyán | diváḥ śaśāsur vidáthā kavīnā́ṃ gṛtsā́ya cit taváse gātúm ī́ṣuḥ ||
ഞങ്ങൾ യജ്ഞത്തെ പ്രാഞ്ചം—മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങുന്നതായി—ആക്കി; പ്രചോദിതമായ ഗീഃ—സ്തുതിവാണി—വർധിക്കട്ടെ. സമിധുകളാൽ അഗ്നിയെ നമസ്കാരത്തോടെ സേവിക്കുന്നു. കവികളുടെ വിദഥ—യജ്ഞസത്രങ്ങൾ—ദിവഃ—ദിവ്യലോകം/ആകാശം—നിന്ന് സ്ഥാപിതമായി; ഗൃത്സമദനെപ്പോലുള്ള ചിത്തവസ—ബലവത്തായ മനസ്സുള്ളവൻ—ക്കായും അവർ ഗാതും—പോകാനുള്ള പാത—തിരഞ്ഞു, ശക്തി മുന്നേറാൻ.
