Sukta 3.1
आ देवानामभवः केतुरग्ने मन्द्रो विश्वानि काव्यानि विद्वान् । प्रति मर्ताँ अवासयो दमूना अनु देवान्रथिरो यासि साधन् ॥
ā devānām abhavaḥ ketúr agne mandró viśvā́ni kā́vyāni vidvā́n | práti martā́m̐ avāsayo damūnā́ ánu devā́n rathiró yāsi sā́dhan ||
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, നീ ദേവന്മാരുടെ കേതു—സൂചനാജ്വാലയും പ്രകാശമയ അടയാളവും—ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; മന്ദ്ര, ആനന്ദമയ ശക്തിയിൽ, എല്ലാ കാവ്യവും—പ്രേരിത വാക്കും ഗുഹ്യജ്ഞാനവും—അറിയുന്നവൻ. ഹേ ദമൂനാ (ഗൃഹവാസി), നീ മർത്ത്യരെ ദേവധാമത്തേക്കു മുഖം തിരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; പ്രവർത്തി സാധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, ഉറച്ച രഥിര (സാരഥി)യായി ദേവന്മാരെ അനുഗമിച്ച് നീ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു.
