Sukta 10.129
न मृत्युरासीदमृतं न तर्हि न रात्र्या अह्न आसीत्प्रकेतः । आनीदवातं स्वधया तदेकं तस्माद्धान्यन्न परः किं चनास ॥
ná mṛtyúr āsīd amṛ́taṃ ná tárhi ná rā́tryā áhna āsīt praketáḥ | ā́nīd avātáṃ svadháyā tád ékaṃ tásmād dhā́nyan ná paraḥ kíṃ canā́sa ||
അപ്പോൾ ന മൃത്യു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, ന അമൃതത്വം; രാത്രിയുടെയും അഹ്ന് (ദിവസം)ന്റെയും പ്രകെത (ലക്ഷണം) പ്രകടമായിരുന്നില്ല. തദേകം സ്വധയാ (സ്വശക്തിയാൽ) അവാതം (വായുവില്ലാതെ) ആനീദത്—ശ്വാസമില്ലാതെ ശ്വസിച്ചു; അതിനപ്പുറം മറ്റൊന്നും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.
