सुपर्णं विप्राः कवयो वचोभिरेकं सन्तं बहुधा कल्पयन्ति । छन्दांसि च दधतो अध्वरेषु ग्रहान्त्सोमस्य मिमते द्वादश ॥
suparṇáṃ viprā́ḥ kaváyo vácobhir ékaṃ sántam bahudhā́ kalpayanti | chándāṃsi ca dádhato adhvaréṣu grahā́nt sómasya mimate dvā́daśa ||
വിപ്രന്മാരായ കവിയ ഋഷികൾ വചനങ്ങളാൽ സുപർണനായ ആ ഏകനെ—ഏകനായിരുന്നാലും—പലവിധമായി രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. അധ്വരങ്ങളിൽ ഛന്ദസ്സുകളെ സ്ഥാപിച്ച്, അവർ സോമത്തിന്റെ ദ്വാദശ ഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ (പാത്രങ്ങളെ) അളക്കുന്നു.
