पशून्न चित्रा सुभगा प्रथाना सिन्धुर्न क्षोद उर्विया व्यश्वैत् । अमिनती दैव्यानि व्रतानि सूर्यस्य चेति रश्मिभिर्दृशाना ॥
paśū́n na citrā́ su-bhágā prathānā́ síndhur na kṣóda urviyā́ ví aśvait | áminatī daivyā́ni vratā́ni sū́ryasya ceti raśmí-bhir dṛśānā́ ||
കിരണങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയാളിയെപ്പോലെ, പലവർണ്ണങ്ങളുള്ള സൗഭാഗ്യവതി ഉഷസ് വ്യാപിക്കുന്നു; പ്രളയപ്രവാഹമുള്ള സിന്ധുവിനെപ്പോലെ, അവൾ വിശാലതയിലൂടെ ഉന്മേഷത്തോടെ ഒഴുകിപ്പായുന്നു. അവൾ ദൈവ്യ വ്രതങ്ങളെ ലംഘിക്കുന്നില്ല; സൂര്യന്റെ രശ്മികളിൽ ദൃശ്യമാകെ, ഋതത്തോടു യോജിച്ച് മുന്നേറുന്നു.
