प्र सु विश्वान्रक्षसो धक्ष्यग्ने भवा यज्ञानामभिशस्तिपावा । अथा वह सोमपतिं हरिभ्यामातिथ्यमस्मै चकृमा सुदाव्ने ॥
prá sú viśvā́n rákṣaso dhákṣy agne bhávā yajñā́nām abhiśastipā́vā | áthā vaha sómapatiṃ háribhyām ātíthyam asmai cakṛma sudā́vne ||
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, എല്ലാ രക്ഷസ്—അന്ധകാരശക്തികൾ—നെയും പൂർണ്ണമായി ദഹിപ്പിക്ക; യജ്ഞങ്ങളെ അഭിശസ്തി—വൈരിയുടെ ആക്രമണം—നിന്ന് കാക്കുന്ന പാവക—ശുദ്ധികർത്താവ്—ആകുക. തുടർന്ന് ഹരിഭ്യാം—താമ്രവർണ്ണ അശ്വങ്ങൾ—സഹിത സോമപതിയെ കൊണ്ടുവരിക; ആ സുദാവൻ—ഉദാരദാതാവ്—നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങൾ അഥിത്യം—അർപ്പണത്തിന്റെ അതിഥിസേവ—ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
