Sukta 1.31
त्वमग्ने वृजिनवर्तनिं नरं सक्मन्पिपर्षि विदथे विचर्षणे । यः शूरसाता परितक्म्ये धने दभ्रेभिश्चित्समृता हंसि भूयसः ॥
tvám agne vṛjiná-vartaniṃ náraṃ sákman piparṣi vidáthē vi-carṣaṇe | yáḥ śū́ra-sātā pári-takmye dhánē dabh́rebhiś cit sám-ṛtā háṃsi bhū́yasaḥ ||
ഹേ അഗ്നേ, വിചർഷണേ (മനുഷ്യരെ വിവേചിക്കുന്നവനേ), നീ വിദഥ (സഭ/യജ്ഞസഭ)യിൽ അപകടകരമായ പാതയിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി കടത്തുന്നു. ശൂരസാതാ (വീരലാഭം)ക്കായി ധനത്തിന്റെ പരിതക്മ്യേ (ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റുന്ന യുദ്ധസംഘർഷം)യിൽ, അല്പസാധനങ്ങളുണ്ടായാലും ഋത (സത്യക്രമം) പ്രകാരം പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നവന്റെ വേണ്ടി നീ വലിയ വിരോധശക്തികളെ പ്രഹരിച്ച് അടക്കുന്നു.
