Sukta 1.161
सुषुप्वांस ऋभवस्तदपृच्छतागोह्य क इदं नो अबूबुधत् । श्वानं बस्तो बोधयितारमब्रवीत्संवत्सर इदमद्या व्यख्यत ॥
suṣu-pvā́ṃsa ṛ́bhavas tád apṛcchatāgóhya ká idáṃ no abū́budhat | śvā́naṃ bastó bodhayitā́ram abravīt saṃvatsará idám adyā́ vyàkhyat ||
ഗാഢനിദ്രയിൽ മുങ്ങിയിരുന്ന ഋഭുക്കൾ ചോദിച്ചു: “ഹേ ഗൂഹ്യ (മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനേ), ഇതിനെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി ആരാണ് ഉണർത്തിയത്?” ബസ്താ നായയെ ഉണർത്തുന്നവൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന് സംവത്സരൻ—വർഷം, കാലം—തന്നെ അത് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി: പാകമായ സമയത്ത് ജ്ഞാനം തുറക്കുന്നവൻ കാലം തന്നെയാണ്.
