प्र सा क्षितिरसुर या महि प्रिय ऋतावानावृतमा घोषथो बृहत् । युवं दिवो बृहतो दक्षमाभुवं गां न धुर्युप युञ्जाथे अपः ॥
prá sā́ kṣitír asura yā́ máhi priyā́ ṛtā́vānāv ṛtám ā́ ghoṣatho bṛhát | yuváṃ divó bṛható dákṣam ā́bhuvaṃ gā́ṃ na dhury úpa yuñjāthe ápaḥ ||
ഹേ അസുര-ശക്തികളേ, മഹത്തും പ്രിയവുമായ ആ ആധിപത്യം നിങ്ങൾ ഋതവാന്മാരായി ‘വിസ്തൃത ഋത’മായി ഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരും വിശാല ദ്യൗവിന്റെ മഹാദക്ഷ (ദക്ഷത/ശക്തി)യായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അപഃ (ജലധാരകൾ)യെ ധുര്യ പശുവിനെപ്പോലെ നുകത്തിൽ ചേർക്കുന്നു—പ്രവാഹങ്ങളെ പ്രവർത്തിസേവയിൽ നിയോഗിച്ച്.
