सूरश्चक्रं प्र वृहज्जात ओजसा प्रपित्वे वाचमरुणो मुषायतीशान आ मुषायति । उशना यत्परावतोऽजगन्नूतये कवे । सुम्नानि विश्वा मनुषेव तुर्वणिरहा विश्वेव तुर्वणिः ॥
sū́raś cakráṃ prá vṛhat jā́ta ójasā prá pitvé vā́cam aruṇó muṣāyati īśāná ā́ muṣāyati | uśánā yát parāváto ájagan ūtáye kavé | sumnā́ni víśvā mánuṣā-iva turváṇir áhā víśva-iva turváṇiḥ ||
സൂര്യജന്യനായ, ഓജസ്സുള്ളവൻ തന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ ചക്രത്തെ മുന്നോട്ടു തള്ളുന്നു; അരുണൻ (ചുവപ്പുനിറമുള്ളവൻ) പാനത്തിനായി (പ്രപിത്വേ) വാച്/വാണിയെ കവർന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; ഈശാനൻ (അധിപതി) അതിനെ തന്റെ അധീനത്തിലാക്കുന്നു. ഉശനാ (കവി ഉശനസ്) പരാവത്—ദൂരത്തപ്പുറത്തിൽ നിന്ന്—ഋഷിയുടെ സഹായത്തിനായി വന്നപ്പോൾ, എല്ലാ സുമ്നങ്ങളും (കൃപാ-വരങ്ങൾ) എത്തി—ദിവസംതോറും—മനുഷ്യദാനങ്ങളുപോലെ, എങ്കിലും സർവ്വവ്യാപകമായ വേഗത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന തുർവണിയെപ്പോലെ.
