Mitra–Varuṇa with Aryaman (Ādityas)
Triṣṭubh
This five-verse Triṣṭubh hymn of Vasiṣṭha invokes Mitra–Varuṇa together with Aryaman as Ādityas who uphold ṛta (cosmic and moral order) across heaven, midspace, and earth. It asks these sovereign powers to accept the offering, lead the worshipper by the “most accomplishing paths,” repel hostility, and continually grant svasti (well-being) while strengthening inspired thought (dhī) toward its desired goal.

दिवि क्षयन्ता रजसः पृथिव्यां प्र वां घृतस्य निर्णिजो ददीरन् । हव्यं नो मित्रो अर्यमा सुजातो राजा सुक्षत्रो वरुणो जुषन्त ॥
यह देवता आसमान में रहते हैं और धरती पे भी। उन्होंने रोशनी के कपड़े खोल दिए हैं। मित्र और अर्यमन अच्छे घर के हैं और वरुण राजा है। वो लोग हमारे भोग से खुश हों और हमारी पूजा कुबूल करें।

आ राजाना मह ऋतस्य गोपा सिन्धुपती क्षत्रिया यातमर्वाक् । इळां नो मित्रावरुणोत वृष्टिमव दिव इन्वतं जीरदानू ॥
आये दोनों राजा, बड़े धरम के रखवाले, पानी के मालिक, राज के स्वामी, हमारे पास आओ। हमें वो शक्ति दो जो खाना और सोच दोनों देता है। आसमान से बारिश भी भेजो। मित्र और वरुण, तुम जो हमेशा देते हो, ऊपर वाला पानी हमारे जीवन में उतरने दो।

मित्रस्तन्नो वरुणो देवो अर्यः प्र साधिष्ठेभिः पथिभिर्नयन्तु । ब्रवद्यथा न आदरिः सुदास इषा मदेम सह देवगोपाः ॥
मित्र और वरुण, जो बड़े देवता हैं, वो हमें सही रास्ते पे ले चलें। ऐसे चलें कि कोई दुश्मन हमारे पास ना आ सके। हमें खुश रहने दो, खाना मिलता रहे, और देवता हमारी हिफाजत करते रहें।

यो वां गर्तं मनसा तक्षदेतमूर्ध्वां धीतिं कृणवद्धारयच्च । उक्षेथां मित्रावरुणा घृतेन ता राजाना सुक्षितीस्तर्पयेथाम् ॥
जो कोई तुम्हारे लिए अपने मन से बैठने की जगह बनाता है, और अपनी सोच को ऊपर उठाता है, उसे पकड़ के रखता है, मित्र और वरुण, तुम उसपे घी जैसा चमकदार पानी डाल दो। दोनों राजा, उसके घर को शांति और खुशाली दो।

एष स्तोमो वरुण मित्र तुभ्यं सोमः शुक्रो न वायवेऽयामि । अविष्टं धियो जिगृतं पुरंधीर्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
यह स्तोत्र मैं तुम्हे दे रहा हूँ, वरुण और मित्र, जैसे चमकता हुआ सोम रस वायु के लिए निकलता है, वैसे ही मैं यह लाया हूँ। हमारी सोच को अपना लो, जो कुछ चाहती है वो मिले। तुम हमेशा हमारी हिफाजत करो और अच्छा रखो।
