Sukta 9.49
Soma (Pavamāna)
Is mantra mein Soma ko bulaya ja raha hai. Soma apne aap ko saaf karta hai jaise barsaat ki dharati ko. Woh ghee jaisa pavitra paani dekhta hai aur yajna mein behta hai. Soma dushman taakaton ko bhaga deta hai. Woh purane sach aur dharma ke diye jala deta hai. Soma logon ko takat aur sehat deta hai.
Mantra 1
Apne aap ko saaf kar aur hum par baarish barsa.
Us dhaara se apne aap ko saaf karo.
Ghee jaisi chamak ke saath behta hua dhaara ban ke yagya mein aao. Devataon ko sabse zyada pasand aane wale, tu saaf ho ke hamare liye baarish laa. Yeh khurak aur barkat ki baarish hai.
Mantra 4
Woh hamare liye taakat badhane ke liye chalta hai. Yeh kabhi khatam nahi hota. Chhanni ke through dhaara ki tarah behta hai. Devata us pukar ko sunte hain jo hamare andar hoti hai.
Mantra 5
Jab woh saaf hota hai to aage badhta hai.
It asks Soma to purify himself in the ritual flow and to bring nourishing rain-like abundance, strong uplifting energy, and protection for the worshippers.
It poetically links Soma’s purified stream with cosmic waters and rainfall, suggesting that ritual purification supports fertility and nourishment in the world.
Rakṣas represent harmful, obstructing forces; Soma’s purification symbolizes clearing those obstacles so clarity, truth, and inner illumination can shine again.
