Indra (Soma-seeker; bull of the peoples)
Triṣṭubh
Is mantra mein Adhvaryu poojariyon ko bola ja raha hai ki woh laal rang ka Soma Indra ko chadhaayein. Indra ko dhoondne wala bataya gaya hai jo piye huye ras ko wapas leta hai. Woh sab logon ka leader hai, jaise bail logon aage chalta hai. Phir Indra ki madad se apne aap ko bada bolne wale dushmano ko haraya ja sakta hai. Aakhir mein Indra aur Brihaspati se saath milkar pukara gaya hai. Unse dhan, naam aur hamesha achha rehne ki dua ki gayi hai.

Mantra 1
अध्वर्यवोऽरुणं दुग्धमंशुं जुहोतन वृषभाय क्षितीनाम् । गौराद्वेदीयाँ अवपानमिन्द्रो विश्वाहेद्याति सुतसोममिच्छन् ॥
Adhvaryu log, Som ka ras nikal ke Indra ko chadhaao. Indra sabke liye bail jaisa mazboot hai. Woh som ke paani ko dhundhte hue aata hai. Roz yahan aata hai som peene ke liye.
Mantra 2
यद्दधिषे प्रदिवि चार्वन्नं दिवेदिवे पीतिमिदस्य वक्षि । उत हृदोत मनसा जुषाण उशन्निन्द्र प्रस्थितान्पाहि सोमान् ॥
Jab tum aasmaan mein accha khana rakh dete ho aur roz peene ka kaam karte ho, tab Indra khush ho ke aata hai. Apne dil aur dimaag se woh som ki raksha karta hai. Woh som jo taiyaar kiya gaya hai.
Mantra 3
जज्ञानः सोमं सहसे पपाथ प्र ते माता महिमानमुवाच । एन्द्र पप्राथोर्वन्तरिक्षं युधा देवेभ्यो वरिवश्चकर्थ ॥
Indra, tumne Soma piya hai taaki tumhe taakat mile. Tumhari maa ne tumhari badai sabko batayi hai. Tumne aasman ko faila diya hai. Ladai karke tumne bhagwanon ke liye jagah bana di hai.

यद्योधया महतो मन्यमानान्त्साक्षाम तान्बाहुभिः शाशदानान् । यद्वा नृभिर्वृत इन्द्राभियुध्यास्तं त्वयाजिं सौश्रवसं जयेम ॥
Jab tum bade logon ko ladai mein bhagate ho jo khud ko bahut samajhte hain, hum unka saamna karte hain. Jab tum logon ke saath ladte ho, tab hum tumhare saath jeetna chahte hain. Achhi badnami aati hai jab hum tumhare jaisa ban jaate hain.
Mantra 5
प्रेन्द्रस्य वोचं प्रथमा कृतानि प्र नूतना मघवा या चकार । यदेददेवीरसहिष्ट माया अथाभवत्केवलः सोमो अस्य ॥
Main Indra ke purane kaam batata hoon aur woh naye kaam jo usne kiye hain. Buri taakatein uski harkaton ke saamne nahi tik paayi. Phir Soma sirf uska ho gaya, sirf uske paas raha.

तवेदं विश्वमभितः पशव्यं यत्पश्यसि चक्षसा सूर्यस्य । गवामसि गोपतिरेक इन्द्र भक्षीमहि ते प्रयतस्य वस्वः ॥
Yeh sab kuch tumhara hai jo tum Suraj ki aankh se dekh sakte ho. Tum gaayon ke ek hi malik ho, Indra. Jo daan diya jata hai, usmein hum bhi hissa paayein.
Mantra 7
बृहस्पते युवमिन्द्रश्च वस्वो दिव्यस्येशाथे उत पार्थिवस्य । धत्तं रयिं स्तुवते कीरये चिद्यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥
Brihaspati aur Indra, tum dono aasman aur duniya daulat ke malik ho. Jo log tumhari tarif karte hain, unko daan do. Tum dono humesha humari hifazat karo aur humein theek rakho.
