Soma Pavamāna (the purifying Soma)
Gāyatrī (3 pādas × 8 syllables; typical for many Soma-pavamāna verses)
Este breve himno a Soma-pavamāna alaba a Soma mientras es purificado a través del filtro, y le pide que traiga un «tesoro brillante» tanto del cielo como de la tierra. Combina la imaginería sacrificial (la bebida clarificada que fluye y su poder nutritivo) con una súplica práctica: que la fuerza purificada de Soma someta también a los enemigos, cercanos o lejanos.

यत्सोम चित्रमुक्थ्यं दिव्यं पार्थिवं वसु । तन्नः पुनान आ भर ॥
Cualquier tesoro brillante y multiforme, oh Soma—digno del himno, celeste y también terrestre—tráenoslo mientras te purificas.

युवं हि स्थः स्वर्पती इन्द्रश्च सोम गोपती । ईशाना पिप्यतं धियः ॥
Pues vosotros dos sois los señores del mundo luminoso: Indra y Soma, guardianes de los rayos. Como soberanos, creced y colmad nuestros pensamientos con el poder de la luz.

वृषा पुनान आयुषु स्तनयन्नधि बर्हिषि । हरिः सन्योनिमासदत् ॥
El Toro, purificándose en las corrientes de la vida, tronando, ha tomado asiento sobre la hierba sagrada; el de color leonado, haciéndose, ha entrado en el seno del rito.

अवावशन्त धीतयो वृषभस्याधि रेतसि । सूनोर्वत्सस्य मातरः ॥
Los pensamientos inspirados han mugido en respuesta sobre la semilla del Toro; las Madres del ternero joven — nodrizas de la luz recién nacida — lo atienden y lo alimentan.

कुविद्वृषण्यन्तीभ्यः पुनानो गर्भमादधत् । याः शुक्रं दुहते पयः ॥
¿Acaso, al purificarse, pondrá el embrión en los poderes ardientes, portadores de fuerza (vṛṣaṇyantī), en aquellas que ordeñan la leche brillante (páyas), la esencia clara y luminosa?

उप शिक्षापतस्थुषो भियसमा धेहि शत्रुषु । पवमान विदा रयिम् ॥
Instrúyenos de cerca; pon temor sobre los enemigos que se alzan contra nosotros. Oh Pavamāna, haznos hallar el rāyí: la plenitud de bienes y de ser.

नि शत्रोः सोम वृष्ण्यं नि शुष्मं नि वयस्तिर । दूरे वा सतो अन्ति वा ॥
Abate, oh Soma, la fuerza varonil del enemigo; abate su ímpetu, abate su avance — esté lejos o esté cerca.
