Soma Pavamāna
এই সংক্ষিপ্ত পবমান সূক্তে সোমকে শুদ্ধিকরণের মুহূর্তেই স্তব করা হয়েছে—উজ্জ্বল, প্রাচীন শক্তি হিসেবে, যার “দুধ” (রস/সার) অক্লান্ত হাতে নিংড়ে বের করা হয় এবং দেবতাদের উপযোগী করে তোলা হয়। সোমকে সূর্যের ন্যায় সকল লোকের ঊর্ধ্বে স্থিত, দীপ্ত ঋত-ব্যবস্থা প্রতিষ্ঠাকারী বলে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে; এবং তাকে আহ্বান করা হয়েছে যেন দেবতাদের আনন্দের জন্য প্রবাহিত হয়, দীপ্ত “গাভী” (কিরণ/সম্পদ) থেকে বল (বাজ) ও প্রাচুর্য দান করে।

अस्य प्रत्नामनु द्युतं शुक्रं दुदुह्रे अह्रयः । पयः सहस्रसामृषिम् ॥
তাঁর প্রাচীন দীপ্তির অনুসরণে অক্লান্ত জনেরা উজ্জ্বল দুগ্ধ—পয়ঃ—দোহন করেছে; সহস্র-গীতধারী ঋষি—সোম—দীপ্ত সমৃদ্ধির ঋষি-শক্তি।

अयं सूर्य इवोपदृगयं सरांसि धावति । सप्त प्रवत आ दिवम् ॥
এটি, সূর্যের ন্যায় নিকট-দর্শী হয়ে, স্রোতসমূহের মধ্যে ধাবিত হয়; সপ্ত প্রবত অতিক্রম করে সে দিবের দিকে আরোহণ করে—সোম।
Mantra 3
अयं विश्वानि तिष्ठति पुनानो भुवनोपरि । सोमो देवो न सूर्यः ॥
এই সোম, পবমান হয়ে, সকল ভুবনের ঊর্ধ্বে স্থিত থাকে; সূর্যের ন্যায় এক দেব—উচ্চতায় স্থির, সমগ্র প্রকৃতির উপর দীপ্ত ঋত প্রতিষ্ঠা করে।

परि णो देववीतये वाजाँ अर्षसि गोमतः । पुनान इन्दविन्द्रयुः ॥
দেবগণের আনন্দার্থে আমাদের চারদিকে প্রবাহিত হও; গোসমৃদ্ধ দীপ্ত ধেনুসমূহ থেকে উৎপন্ন বাজ-ধারাসমূহ বহাও। শুদ্ধিমান ইন্দু, ইন্দ্র-যু (ইন্দ্রকে কামনাকারী) — আমাদের অন্তরে বল-সমৃদ্ধি ও জ্ঞান-কিরণের পূর্ণতা আনো।
