Soma Pavamāna (purifying Soma)
يمدح هذا النشيد القصير من أناشيد بافامانا سوما وهو يندفع عبر المُصفّي (pavitra)، منسجمًا مع النظام الكوني العظيم (ṛtam bṛhat)، ومحطّمًا القوى المُعيقة (rakṣas/vighna). كما يصوّر الصورة المألوفة لتنقية سوما على يد «العذارى العشر» (الأصابع/جداول الإعداد)، حتى يصير حلوًا وصالحًا لإندرا وفيشنو. ويختتم النشيد بدعاءٍ للحماية: ليحفظ سوما المُطهَّر المنشدين من الخطيئة والضيق.

Mantra 1
परि सोम ऋतं बृहदाशुः पवित्रे अर्षति । विघ्नन्रक्षांसि देवयुः ॥
حولَ الحقِّ العظيم (ṛtam bṛhat) يجري سوما السريع عبر المُطهِّر (pavitra)، مُحطِّمًا قوى العرقلة؛ لأنه طالبُ الإلهيّ.
Mantra 2
यत्सोमो वाजमर्षति शतं धारा अपस्युवः । इन्द्रस्य सख्यमाविशन् ॥
حين ينساب سوما نحو تمام القوّة (vāja)، تدخل مئةُ مجاريه العاملة في صُحبةِ إندرا.
Mantra 3
अभि त्वा योषणो दश जारं न कन्यानूषत । मृज्यसे सोम सातये ॥
عشرُ عذارى البهجة يندفعن إليك كما إلى حبيب؛ تُنقّى، يا سوما، لنيلِ الغنمِ الحقّ.
Mantra 4
त्वमिन्द्राय विष्णवे स्वादुरिन्दो परि स्रव । नॄन्त्स्तोतॄन्पाह्यंहसः ॥
اِنسَبْ من حولنا، يا إندو، عذبًا لإندرا ولِفيشنو؛ واحفظ رجالَنا، المنشدين، من الضيقِ والإثم.
