Sukta 1.40
प्रैतु ब्रह्मणस्पतिः प्र देव्येतु सूनृता । अच्छा वीरं नर्यं पङ्क्तिराधसं देवा यज्ञं नयन्तु नः ॥
práitu bráhmaṇaspátiḥ prá devyétu sūnṛ́tā | ácchā vīráṃ náryaṃ paṅktí-rādhasam devā́ yajñáṃ nayantu naḥ ||
ขอพรหมณัสปติ (Brahmaṇaspati) จงก้าวออกไป; ขอพลังศักดิ์สิทธิ์แห่งวาจาสัตย์อันงาม (sūnṛtā) จงเคลื่อนไปข้างหน้า. มุ่งสู่วีรบุรุษ สู่พลังกล้าหาญแห่งบุรุษ และสู่ความบริบูรณ์อันเป็นระเบียบ—ขอเหล่าเทพจงนำยัญของเรา พาเครื่องบูชาภายในไปสู่ความสำเร็จสมบูรณ์.
