असामि हि प्रयज्यवः कण्वं दद प्रचेतसः । असामिभिर्मरुत आ न ऊतिभिर्गन्ता वृष्टिं न विद्युतः ॥
Transliteration
asā́mi hí prayajyaváḥ káṇvaṃ dadá pracétasaḥ | asā́mibhir maruta ā́ na ūtíbhiḥ gántā vṛ́ṣṭiṃ ná vidyútaḥ ||
Translation
ఎందుకనగా, ఓ ప్రచేతసులైన, యజ్ఞప్రియ మరుతులారా! మీరు అలసటలేనివారు; కణ్వునకు (దానం/అనుగ్రహం) ఇచ్చినవారు. ఓ మరుతులారా! మీ అలసటలేని ఊతులతో మా యొద్దకు రండి—వర్షంలా, విద్యుత్తు విమోచనంలా.
