Sukta 9.65
पवते हर्यतो हरिर्गृणानो जमदग्निना । हिन्वानो गोरधि त्वचि ॥
pávate haryató hárir gṛṇānó jamád-agninā́ | hinvānó gór ádhi tváci ||
During Soma filtration: Soma is ‘urged’ along the strainer (often metaphorized as a hide/skin), while hymns/praise (gṛṇānaḥ) accompany the flow.
veil and revelation (tvac as covering), mantra as activating praise (gṛṇānaḥ), Agni-Soma synergy (will and delight)
Purification is R̥ta in action—right sorting of true/false movements in the nature.
Truth-light (go) is released when coverings (tvac) are cleansed.
Revelation: hidden light emerges through the action of fire and flowing essence.
Yoga of transformation: Agni (will) + Soma (delight) as twin powers of ascent.
Filter-skin = psychological membrane of habit/ignorance; cow = light-rays; fire = aspiration; Soma = delight that purifies without violence.
Bring will and delight together to cleanse a specific obstruction; invite hidden insight to surface.
Manipura (will/fire) supporting Ajna (revelation)
Kapalabhati-light or brisk bhastrikā (short set) followed by calm breathing while chanting to ‘purify the covering’.
Bright, forward-driving clarity.
Choose one stubborn pattern (‘tvac’). On each repetition, feel a warm will in the navel and a cool-sweet flow rising; end by resting attention in the brow as ‘go’—quiet rays of insight.
Observe udātta on accented syllables; ‘pavate’ often begins with a clear lift in recitation traditions.
Keep consonant clusters crisp: gṛṇāno, jamadagninā, hinvāno; do not rush ‘goḥ adhi tvaci’.
gṛṇānaḥ: vocalic ṛ; avoid ‘gri’, jamadagninā: articulate ‘dagn’ cluster smoothly, tvaci: dental t + v; keep ‘c’ as palatal (ch-like but unaspirated)
Bright, ringing, forward-propelling tone.
