सर्वास्त्राणि भृशाश्वस्य पुत्राः परमधार्मिकाः। कौशिकाय पुरा दत्ताः यदा राज्यं प्रशासति॥
All these weapons were given to Viswamitra by Bhrisasva's highly virtuous sons whilehe was ruling the kingdom.
Power becomes legitimate when received through dharmic transmission and used under righteous governance; vidyā is conferred, not seized.
Encourages respect for lineage, initiation, and ethical use of skills; reminds practitioners to seek proper guidance before wielding potent methods.
Rightful power is sanctified by dharmic lineage and proper initiation; knowledge is a trust (not possession).
Transmission motif: knowledge given by the worthy to the worthy (sampradāya), echoing teacher-to-student handing down of vidyā.
Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa 1.21 (continuation of Viśvāmitra+cs credentials); Purāṇic genealogies mentioning Bhṛśāśva and weapon traditions (motif-level parallel)
Kṣatriya-ascetic synthesis: royal rule and tapas-linked vidyā
Later Bālakāṇḍa: Viśvāmitra+cs bestowal of astras to Rāma mirrors earlier receipt from Bhṛśāśva+cs sons
