Sukta 82
अयं संक्षिप्तोऽथर्ववेदिकः सूक्तः विवाहमन्त्ररूपो जायाकामनायाः, यः पाठकस्य जीवने गृहे च योग्यां भार्यां आकर्षितुं प्रवर्तते। अत्र मानुषविवाहः दिव्यप्रमाणैः सह संबध्यते—अश्विभ्यां सूर्यायाः वधूयानस्य नयनं तथा इन्द्रस्य अजेयः श्रीदः प्रभावः—येन सौभाग्यं संमतिः सामाजिकसिद्धिश्च वधूप्राप्तौ समवायं यान्ति।

जायाकामना। आ॒गच्छ॑त॒ आग॑तस्य॒ नाम॑ गृह्णाम्याय॒तः । इन्द्र॑स्य वृत्र॒घ्नो व॑न्वे वास॒वस्य॑ श॒तक्र॑तोः
जायाकामना— आगच्छत, आगतस्य नाम गृह्णामि आयतः। इन्द्रस्य वृत्रघ्नो वासवस्य शतक्रतोः वान्वे।

येन॑ सू॒र्यां सा॑वि॒त्रीम॒श्विनो॒हतुः॑ प॒था। तेन॒ माम॑ब्रवी॒द् भगो॑ जा॒यामा व॑हता॒दिति॑
येन पथा अश्विनौ सूर्यां सावित्रीम् आहतुः, तेन पथा भगो माम् अब्रवीत्— ‘इह जायाम् आवहत’ इति।
