अथर्ववेदस्य ६.१३६ सूक्तं संक्षिप्तं भैषज्य-मन्त्रः। अज्ञातामोषधिं ‘देवी-पृथिव्यां जाताम्’ इति पवित्रयित्वा, तां केशेषु प्रयुञ्जते—केशान् दृढान् कर्तुं, घनान् कर्तुं, पुनरुत्पत्तिं च साधयितुम्। सूक्ते प्रथमं वनस्पतेः श्रद्धया ग्रहणम्, ततः केशेषु स्थैर्याय नवाङ्कुराय च प्रत्यक्षादेशः; अन्ते सर्वभेषजी वनस्पतिरसस्य सिञ्चनाभ्यञ्जनाभ्यां केशपात-भङ्गयोः प्रतिषेधः समाप्यते।
