अथर्ववेदस्य २०.६५ सूक्तं ऋग्वेदोद्भवम् इन्द्रस्तुतिरूपं संक्षिप्तम्। अस्मिन् सूक्ते यजमानाः सह याज्ञिकसमुदायेन इन्द्रं सर्वातिशायिनं वीर्यवत्तमं शूरं च स्तोतुं प्रवर्त्यन्ते—यः गोसमृद्धिं धनं च जयम् च प्रयच्छति। ‘मधुरा’ ‘अद्भुता’ च वाक् (स्तोत्रोच्चारणम्) यज्ञस्य सिद्धिं प्रभावं च प्रकाशयति। अन्ते तु दक्षिणा—यज्ञदानं—ज्योतिरिव सर्वव्यापिनीति व्याख्याय उन्नीयते; सा इन्द्रस्य अपरिमितं दानं यज्ञेन सुलभं कृत्वा प्रतिपाद्यते।
