अथर्ववेदस्य २०.२६ सूक्तं संक्षिप्तं इन्द्राह्वानम्। तत्र देवं पुनः पुनः “प्रत्येकस्मिन् युगे प्रत्येकस्मिन् चाजौ” आह्वयति; यजमानस्य वाक्यं शृणोतु, सहस्रगुणैः परित्राणैः जयप्रदया च बलेन समीपं आगच्छत्विति प्रार्थयते। अस्य सूक्तस्य प्रभावः पुनरुक्त-प्रत्याह्वानरूपेण ध्रुवपदवत् आह्वाने, तथा च इन्द्रस्य कामदोहानां हरिणां युज्यमानत्वस्य सजीव-चित्रे निहितः—येन शीघ्रं दैवी साहाय्य-समुद्योगः सिद्ध्यै, क्षेमाय, लाभाय च सुनिश्चितो भवति।

अकेतवे केतुं कृण्वन्, अपेशसे पेशो ददन्, हे मर्य! उषद्भिः समं त्वम् अजायथाः।
