अयं लघुरिन्द्रसोमस्तोत्रो विषूवति (मध्यपरिवर्ते) सोमाभिषवं तथा मधुरं मधु-पानं वर्णयति, येन इन्द्रः प्रमुदितो भवति। सोममिश्रणस्य, उपकारिणीनां धेनूनां, तथा व्रतपालनस्य स्तुत्या यजमानस्य प्रति इन्द्रस्य जयबलं आकर्षयितुं स्तोत्रस्य प्रयोजनम्। “वस्वीर् अनु स्वाराज्यम्” इति पुनःपुनः प्रतिपाद्यमानः प्रतिगीतः अस्य कर्मणः पौष्टिक-स्वाराज्य-मन्त्रत्वं दर्शयति—देवस्य बलेन समृद्धिः, श्रीः, तथा स्वातन्त्र्येण राज्यं यजमानं अनुगच्छन्ति।
