अथर्ववैदिकस्यास्य विलम्बितसूक्तस्य प्रयोजनं ऐश्वर्यरक्षामन्त्रत्वेन यजमानं संस्कृतेन वाससा परिवेष्ट्य जरामृत्य्वोः शरीरगृहयोः निवृत्तिः करणीया। बृहस्पतेराज्ञया रक्षकवासस्य प्रदानं जरायाः परिहारश्च दीर्घायुषः वर्चसः पशुरक्षणाय रयिपोषयोः च सम्पादनाय।

राष्ट्रम्—येन देवा देवम् सवितारं परि अधारयन्, तेन हे ब्रह्मणस्पते, इमं परि राष्ट्राय धत्तन।
