Sukta 5.6

Devata

Agni

Ten hymn chwali Agniego jako prawdziwy "dom" (astam) i skarb, do którego wszystkie siły odżywcze, szybkie energie i zwycięskie moce naturalnie zmierzają. Prosi Agniego, by pobudzał i rozpalał te siły wewnątrz ofiary oraz przyniósł ciągły wzrost (iṣ) śpiewakom - zwłaszcza moc bohatera i szybkość podobną do końskiej.

Inside Sukta 6

How it unfolds

  1. Where it opens

Agni is declared the true treasure and the ‘home’ to which the milking powers and swift forces run (RV 5.6.1).

  2. Development

Agni’s powers multiply as ‘fires within the Fire,’ fostering all that is excellent and continually impelling growth for the worshippers (notably RV 5.6.6).

  3. Climax

The hymn’s central ask: that Agni actively drive, press, and kindle uninterrupted increase (iṣ) and prosperity for the singers and sacrificer.

  4. Where it settles

It ends by affirming steady establishment of the unwearied Agni through songs and rites, requesting suvīrya and swift power as his final gift (RV 5.6.10).
