Sukta 9.87
एष सुवानः परि सोमः पवित्रे सर्गो न सृष्टो अदधावदर्वा । तिग्मे शिशानो महिषो न शृङ्गे गा गव्यन्नभि शूरो न सत्वा ॥
eṣá suvānáḥ pári sómaḥ pavítre sárgo ná sṛṣṭó adadhāvad árvā | tigmé śiśāno mahíṣo ná śṛ́ṅge gā́ gavyánn abhí śū́ro ná sátvā ||
ഈ സോമം, സുയവപ്പെട്ടത് (പിഴിഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്), പവിത്രത്തെ ചുറ്റി—വിടുതലപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പ്രളയധാരപോലെ—മുന്നോട്ട് പാഞ്ഞോടുന്നു. മൂർച്ചയുള്ള അരികുകളിൽ സ്വയം മൂർച്ചപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്, കൊമ്പുകളിൽ മഹിഷൻപോലെ, അവൻ ഗവ്യാൻ—പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ ഗോങ്ങൾ (കിരണങ്ങൾ)—നെ തേടുന്നു; ശൂരനായി, സത്ത്വമുള്ള ശക്തിമാനായി മുന്നോട്ട് തള്ളിപ്പോകുന്നു.
