अस्मान्त्समर्ये पवमान चोदय दक्षो देवानामसि हि प्रियो मदः । जहि शत्रूँरभ्या भन्दनायतः पिबेन्द्र सोममव नो मृधो जहि ॥
asmā́n samaryé pavamāna codaya dákṣo devā́nām ási hí priyó mádaḥ | jahí śátrūn abhyā̀ bhandanāyatáḥ píbendra sómam áva no mṛ́dho jahí ||
ഹേ പവമാന സോമ, സമരത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളെ മുന്നോട്ടു പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കേണമേ; നീ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ദക്ഷ (കൗശല-ശക്തി) ആകുന്നു, അവരുടെ പ്രിയ മദ (ആനന്ദോന്മാദം) ആകുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഞങ്ങളിലേക്കു ചാടിവരുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളെ സംഹരിക്ക; ഹേ ഇന്ദ്ര, സോമം പാനം ചെയ്ക—ഞങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്ക, നമ്മുടെ മുന്നേറ്റത്തെ തടയുന്ന ആക്രമണങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്ക.
