The meaning
Outer meaning
Some, seeing the inmost richness, the divine shining ones, praised Soma. As Savitṛ opens a veil, so the god unveils the covering, revealing what was hidden.
Inner meaning
When the inner sight awakens, the luminous powers (vasu-rucaḥ, ‘shining treasures’) perceive the secret plenitude within Soma—Ananda carrying hidden knowledge. Their praise is the mind’s glad affirmation. The unveiling like Savitṛ is the action of the illumining Force that removes the covering (vāra) from consciousness, disclosing concealed light and truth.
