Sukta 8.47
परि णो वृणजन्नघा दुर्गाणि रथ्यो यथा । स्यामेदिन्द्रस्य शर्मण्यादित्यानामुतावस्यनेहसो व ऊतयः सुतयो व ऊतयः ॥
pári no vṛṇajan aghā́ durgā́ṇi rathyò yáthā | syā́med índrasya śármaṇy ādityā́nām utā́vasy anéhaso va ūtáyaḥ su-ūtáyaḥ va ūtáyaḥ ||
ഞങ്ങളെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റി കാക്കണമേ, അഘാ (ഹാനി)കളെ അകറ്റി—രഥിയൻ ദുർഗമ വഴികൾ ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതുപോലെ. ഇന്ദ്രന്റെ ശർമ (ആശ്രയം)യിൽയും ആദിത്യരുടെ സഹായത്തിലുമാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ. ഹേ അനേഹസ (അച്യുത) ദേവന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷകൾ—നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുഭ രക്ഷകൾ—ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാവലാകുന്നു.
