Sukta 8.40
यदिन्द्राग्नी जना इमे विह्वयन्ते तना गिरा । अस्माकेभिर्नृभिर्वयं सासह्याम पृतन्यतो वनुयाम वनुष्यतो नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
yád indrā́gnī jánā imé vi-hváyante tánā girā́ | asmā́kebhir nṛ́bhir vayáṃ sāsahyā́ma pṛtanyató vanuyā́ma vanuṣyató nábhantām anyaké samé ||
ഇന്ദ്രാഗ്നീ, ഈ ജനങ്ങൾ തങ്ങളുടെ തന്നെ സ്വരത്തിൽ ഗീരങ്ങളാൽ നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചാൽ, ഞങ്ങൾ നമ്മുടെ നരന്മാരോടൊപ്പം സഹിച്ചു നില്ക്കുകയും ജയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ; യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും ജയമാഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരെയും എതിരാക്കി ഞങ്ങൾ വിജയം നേടട്ടെ; മറ്റുള്ളവർ അതേ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ ചിതറിപ്പോകട്ടെ.
