Sukta 8.40
अपि वृश्च पुराणवद्व्रततेरिव गुष्पितमोजो दासस्य दम्भय । वयं तदस्य सम्भृतं वस्विन्द्रेण वि भजेमहि नभन्तामन्यके समे ॥
ápi vṛśca purāṇavád vratáter iva guṣpitám ójo dāsásya dambhaya | vayáṃ tád asya sambhṛtáṃ vásv índreṇa ví bhajemahi nábhantām anyaké samé ||
ഇന്ദ്രനേ, പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ കെട്ടുപിണഞ്ഞ ശക്തിയെയും മുറിച്ചുകളക—വ്രതഭംഗിയുടെ ബന്ധനം മുറിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ; ദാസന്റെ ഓജസ്സിനെ തകർത്തുകളക. പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ ഇന്ദ്രനോടൊപ്പം സമാഹരിച്ച വസു (ധനം) വിഭജിക്കട്ടെ; മറ്റുള്ളവർ അതേ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ ചിതറിപ്പോകട്ടെ.
