Sukta 8.27
वि नो देवासो अद्रुहोऽच्छिद्रं शर्म यच्छत । न यद्दूराद्वसवो नू चिदन्तितो वरूथमादधर्षति ॥
ví no devāso adrúho ’cchidráṃ śárma yacchata | ná yád dūrā́d vasavo nū́ cíd ántito varū́tham ā-dadharṣati ||
ഹേ ദേവന്മാരേ, അദ്രുഹർ (ദ്രോഹമില്ലാത്തവർ) ആയ നിങ്ങള്, ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അച്ഛിദ്ര ശർമം—അഖണ്ഡമായ ശാന്തിയും ആശ്രയവും—വിരിച്ചുതരുവിൻ. നിങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്ന രക്ഷാ-വൃതം (വരൂഥം) ഏതൊരു ആക്രമണവും—ദൂരത്തുനിന്നോ, ഇപ്പോൾ അടുത്തുനിന്നോ പോലും—അതിജീവിക്കുകയില്ല.
